06 Jul FUNDO LA CANTERA (PERU), ANOTHER SUCCESS STORY
Our work in Latin America has given our clients excellent results for years.
Peru is one of the main hubs of HERMISAN activity in the area.
The family that owns the company LAS MARÍAS, has been the leading figure of the economic development of Peru for more than 100 years. It started off as Bodegas Tabernero in 1896, and it has become one of the most important wine producers in the country. New activities have been added to the family group. Now they grow mandarins, avocados, they have vineyards in different regions of Peru, and from their packing house facilities they export the fruit from their own crops all over the world.
In Nuevo Imperial District, Cañete-Peru, the company LAS MARÍAS has established the citrus farm Fundo La Cantera S.A.C. For this new venture, HERMISAN was asked to set up the whole fertirrigation system at its new farm.
It is located in a large area of difficult and mountainous land covering 200 ha. The HERMISAN project involved using a big reservoir with an elevation system going up to another upper regulating reservoir and a complete irrigation head. It has an automated fertirrigation and climate centre, an outdoor weather station, automatic filtration systems, Nutricompact systems, an extensive network of pipes, electrovalves and drip irrigation systems, which is all run by the SupraControl hydrocomputer.
The HERMISAN technology was used for our client’s project and now it is reaping the rewards. In a little more than three and a half years, the dry expanses of land have turned into luscious green mandarin groves that are already in full production.
A very well designed and executed agricultural project that will bring wealth and prosperity to a whole region.
