Hermisan

Hermisan finishes setting up the irrigation system for 40.8 ha used to grow cranberries in 2 stages 2024 and 2025 in Tunisia

For 32 years the company SanLucar has grown and established itself in numerous countries. It supples fresh fruit around the world, with the highest standards of quality, authenticity and social responsibility.

Whenever SanLucar undertakes a new agricultural project, it looks for the best collaborators to obtain efficient, sustainable and cost-effective crops.

So when SanLucar, with its subsidiary Les Perles du Desert, decided to invest in the agricultural potential of Tunisia for its cranberry crops, it chose Hermisan to be its technological partner, in order to optimize water that is such an essential resource.

To this end, in Tunisia, in the last two years, 40.8 ha of land has been used to grow cranberries. For the irrigation and the fertigation a complete modern irrigation system has been set up so that the water and the fertilizers can be used as efficiently as possible. Two independent water networks have been used for this: one for the drip irrigation and fertigation with hydroponic standards and another one for a micro-sprinkler system.

This project has been designed and carried out in two phases or stages, each one has its own water reservoir, submersible pressure pumps for each network, an irrigation head with independent automatic mesh filters for each network, Nutrivent® fertigation equipment to ensure that the fertigation has the correct pH and CE, and as aforementioned, 2 independent sprinkler and irrigation systems.
